Accessibility
How we make the shop usable for everyone, and where it still falls short.
We want everyone to be able to browse and buy from RAYLISSM. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- Text and background colours meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard; focus is always visible, and a “Skip to content” link is the first thing on each page.
- Images that carry information have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Headings, lists, tables and form labels use proper HTML so assistive technology can read them.
- Animations stop when your device is set to reduce motion. The moving fabric on the home page is replaced by a still image, and the film only plays when it is on screen and can be paused.
- Prices always show the currency code as text, not only a symbol.
- Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
- The draggable fabric on the home page is a visual extra that needs a mouse or trackpad; everything it links to is also available through normal links and buttons.
- Payment forms are provided by our payment service provider and follow its accessibility standards.
